Childhood adventures in West Africa inspired my love of travel and storytelling. As an adult, I have pursued these interests as a journalist, writer, and teacher. Along the way I have been fortunate to visit far-flung places from Sumatra to Sweden. I have also written about my travels in anthologies and for newspapers and magazines. I have published with the Washington Post, VICE, NPR's KQED, and other outlets. Lake Town, chronicling my time in the Peace Corps, is my first book.
